nintendo may be cartoony and cutesy about their games but atleast they try to break the mold and not repeatedly make 1st person shooters with white male protagonists
Plus they make “cartoony” and “cutesy” games that manage to reach a wide audience (Zelda) and seriously how long are we going to keep associating cutesy and cartoony with just kids. There’s this unspoken social norm that “for kids” means the same thing as “not appropriate for mature adults to like or take seriously” and considering there are still many people who consider video games or anything animated “for kids,” I personally think that’s a pretty damn archaic concept at this point.
